The People of Eos
The founding members of Eos Ecuador and our employees all share a common vision of social and environmental justice, and a love for travel, exploration, and new experiences. David, one of the founders of Eos Ecuador, came to Ecuador in 2005 for a vacation and stayed. Pablo, also a founding member of Eos, has many years of experience working with other travel agents and had been planning to start a new travel agency, one that would promote a new form of responsible tourism. Eos Ecuador was born when a meeting between them concluded with a common vision and common goals.
We all believe there are a sufficient number of socially and ecologically aware travellers, eager to explore the world yet conscious of the impact of their voyages on the environment and on the cultures of the countries that they visit. We share with you the desire to minimize the negative impacts and maximize the benefits that can be achieved by putting your hard-earned money where it can do the most good.
To this end, our common vision is to offer the best possible experience in Ecuador to our clients, while giving something back to the people and places of this amazing country. Come visit; neither Ecuador nor Eos will dissappoint.

Born in Quito in 1972, Pablo Cruz has long been interested in themes of social support and development. He worked voluntarily for many years in Esperanza Foundation, an institution that provides help for children with physical and learning difficulties, an association that prompted him to turn to the study of education. Now he seeks to find ways to link education, tourism and social development through integrated programs through profits generated by Eos. |

David de la Houssaye is from the United States, and like Andy, came to Ecuador for vacation and decided to stay. David holds a BA in International Studies, and has worked in a variety of fields, most recently as a consultant in wireless network engineering and design. A strong desire to work in something more fulfilling led him to the decision to help start Yanapuma Foundation and Spanish School, where he has been working since 2006. With his interests in sustainable development and helping small communities, and a lifelong love for travel and exploration, a travel agency such as Eos Ecuador was the next logical step. |

OK, so this isn't Gaby, but instead the newest addition to the Eos Ecuador family...Gabriel Yajamin, Gaby's new son, born on the 9th of January 2010. Gaby Saltos, like her son, is a native of Quito. She graduated from the Universidad Autonoma de Quito with a degree in tourism, and has completed additional studies in ecotourism. She spent much of her life living in the Amazon region, but since graduating from university, has worked in a variety of Quito's museums and cultural attractions. Prior to joining our team, she was the head of operations for a larger travel agency based in Quito, and holds the same position at Eos. Gaby loves Ecuadorian art and history, and of course, travel.
