Illiniza North Summit Climb - 2 days
The 5126 meter peak of Illiniza Norte is an excellent acclimatization climb before attempting higher peaks such as Cotopaxi. The climb to the summit follows a ridge with some difficult sections, but the route is non technical. Good physical fitness is required.
Cayambe Summit Climb - 2 days
A popular destination for climbers, the 5,790 meter peak of the Cayambe volcano is Ecuador's third highest peak and perhaps Ecuador's most beautiful glacier. The climb is challenging, and is recommended only for those with good physical fitness and acclimatization to altitude, however climbing experience is not essential.
Chimborazo Summit Climb - 2 days
The Chimborazo volcano is Ecuador's highest, and its 6,268 meter peak is the farthest point in the world from the earth's center. This is a challenging climb, recommended only for experienced climbers and subject to severe weather and avalanche risks, but reaching the top is truly an unforgettable experience.
Anaconda Lodge - Tena region
Anaconda was the first lodge in the Ecuadorian Amazon, recently rebuilt and restored by new owners. A short distance from Tena and accessed by a short canoe trip, this lodge is located along the Napo river in a beautiful, tranquil location. Activities include jungle hikes through primary forests and cultural experiences with local families. Excellent food and service, highly recommended.
Huasquila Lodge - Tena region
Huasquila Lodge was constructed on the grounds of a former hacienda, but is now surrounded by beautiful landscaped grounds and secondary forests, with hikes through primary rain forests. Close to Quito, the lodge offers an excellent variety of options for its guests, from rafting and birdwatching to hikes and cultural community visits. Wheelchair accessible.
Cotopaxi Summit Climb - 2 or 3 days
This is the most popular mountain climbing tour in Ecuador, reaching the top of the 5,897 meter (19,347 feet) Cotopaxi volcano and its crater. This tour requires acclimatization to altitude and very good physical fitness, but is relatively non-technical for those with little to no climbing experience.
Amazon Adventure Tours
These tours are for tourists looking for something more adventurous than a typical lodge in the Amazon region. Most of these tours spend a couple of nights at a lodge, but most nights will be spent in community accommodations or camping in tents.
